Objective: Muhanga District commissioned UPCE Consult Ltd to prepare a rehabilitation study for the 34-kilometre Bakokwe-Kiyumba-Nyabarongo earth road, a key transportation link within the district. Scope & Methodology: Our team, led by our director and certified valuer/urban planner/civil engineer, carried out full planning and design work for the road's rehabilitation, giving close attention to environmental impact throughout. The study focused on improving overall road conditions, designing effective drainage solutions to manage rainwater and prevent erosion, and incorporating road-safety measures for users. Key Deliverables: A complete technical study report with road rehabilitation designs, drainage system proposals, safety measure recommendations, and an environmental impact review, supported by a Bill of Quantities to guide budgeting and construction. Impact: The 12-month, 34 km road rehabilitation study delivered a technically sound and environmentally responsible roadmap for the district, contributing to smoother, safer travel and supporting broader socio-economic development for communities along the corridor.
