Objective: UPCE Consult Ltd was contracted by Rusizi District to elaborate a layout plan and carry out boundary marking and beaconing works for the Karambo site in Cyangugu Cell, Kamembe Sector. Scope & Methodology: Over a two-month assignment, our team designed layout plans for individual plots and strategically planned road networks to ensure convenient access to newly proposed parcels, while also proposing supporting infrastructure such as markets and recreational spaces at the neighborhood level. We carefully considered environmental factors including stormwater management and addressed the socio-economic needs of the local population. Our deliverables included topographic plans showing contour lines and drainage systems, plot subdivision plans, land use plans, and beaconing of roads and parcels using standardized 0.15m x 0.15m x 0.6m concrete markers, along with technical and financial road studies (road and structural drawings, drainage systems, quantity estimates) and a complete tender dossier. Key Deliverables: Layout and subdivision plans, topographic and drainage plans, physical beacon markers, technical/financial road study, and tender bidding documents. Impact: The project delivered a holistic neighborhood design that combined functional infrastructure with environmental responsibility, creating a thriving, well-connected area attractive to residents and investors alike.
