Objective: The Rwanda National Police engaged UPCE Consult Ltd as consultant for valuation and expropriation services related to the Mayange Technical Correctional/Training Centre (TCC) project in Nyanza District. Scope & Methodology: Over a 21-month, 12-month staff-effort assignment involving civil engineers, quantity surveyors, an environmentalist, valuers and a sociologist, our team carried out geometric and geotechnical studies, architectural and structural design work, prepared confidential Bills of Quantities, and conducted a socio-economic and environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the site. Key Deliverables: Geotechnical and geometric survey reports, architectural and structural designs, confidential BOQs, and a full socio-economic and environmental impact assessment. Impact: The assignment supported the Rwanda National Police in fairly valuing and expropriating land for the Mayange TCC project while ensuring the technical, social and environmental groundwork was properly documented ahead of construction.
