Objective: The City of Kigali engaged UPCE Consult Ltd to elaborate a detailed physical plan for the Rwampara settlement site located in Kicukiro District. Scope & Methodology: Over a four-month assignment involving civil engineers, quantity surveyors, an environmentalist, an architect, a GIS expert and a sociologist, our team carried out geometric and geotechnical studies of the site, developed architectural and structural designs, prepared confidential Bills of Quantities, and conducted a full socio-economic and environmental impact assessment (EIA). Key Deliverables: A detailed physical plan for the Rwampara site, geotechnical and geometric survey findings, architectural and structural designs, a confidential BOQ, and an EIA report. Impact: The plan gave the City of Kigali a technically thorough, environmentally assessed physical development plan for the Rwampara settlement, valued at over 27 million Rwf, ready to guide future site development.
